Football is not something a bride normally considers when choosing her wedding date, and why would she? There is no list that will tell you to look out for something like that on the knot. The reality is, though, that a home Purdue football game can really give a bride in this town a headache. Hotels book up years in advance and traffic is a mess.
That was why I was so glad when we were able to turn a planning negative into a positive the day of the event and shoot at the Purdue football game. We shoot Purdue weddings all over campus all the time. A couple on game day with a full stadium behind them is a first! I owe a big hug to the gate guard that let us past and into the game proper to get a better angle of the field with a full crowd. A thank you to Nathan from TimeKeepers who does both Purdue football and wedding video. He helped me know the best gate and time for the shot I wanted.
In the end everyone got hotels and the weather was perfect. “Jeeves”, our driver from Imperial Travel, got us all around campus in record time.
All that said, a wedding for me always comes down to images like number 11 in this post. Brent made a simple gesture and wrote a note in a card to Jessica. She lost her cool when she read it. I love those moments. I live for those moments.
Enjoy these images for now. More images from the big game, little moments and whole day will be coming in the next few weeks.
