Connor & Nick. I love working with this couple. I met them back in the spring when I shot their mini engagement session at Star City Coffee Shop in Lafayette. So we thought it was best to plan the full engagement shoot for outdoor/ rural, since we already got some urban. The mini-session serves nicely as a warm-up for the events to follow: engagement session, and then of course THE BIG DAY. Getting to know clients and learning a couple’s style and dynamic does wonders for how smooth the next interaction will go. Another bonus, they are probably the most easy going couple I’ve worked with, to date. Numerous times one of them said things like, “whatever you think…we trust you.” What a great feeling. Thanks for trusting me! But the shine is all them: not just smiles between these two, but LOTS of laughter. From start to finish, this couple really had a good time with it. All natural. Good vibes. It’s as if I wasn’t even there, and they were just tearin’ it up on their own.
Referring back to the easy-going qualities that this couple shares: I met them out at Fort Ouiatenon and wanted to make the small trek to the other end of an overgrown field where there was optimal light and shade… a quarter of the way through I thought for sure they were going to kill me for making them walk through all of the tall grass and brush, but to my surprise, they were cool with it and we all laughed the whole way there (and back). All of us were in shorts and luckily there was no sight of anything poisonous!! Anything for the shot, right?! haha…
I’m honored to be a part of their wedding day this October. They’re a wonderful pair and I couldn’t be happier for them.
Here’s a collection of my favorites from last night!
