I don’t normally skip photographing preparation. I arrived a bit early and prep was still going on. It was hard to not shoot it! I spent my time walking the grounds. Who knew that the Shrine Club had such a gorgeous backyard to it. Seriously! I have driven past that building over and over and I never knew. I don’t think even the Shrine Club know. They are not advertising it, and they should be, because it is their best feature!
My other big challenge was Alisha and Jacob’s daughter Molly. The challenge was not her. She is a little model. She could be crying one minute then camera time comes and she stops and gives a cute look, then goes back to crying. A true pro. The challenge was in balance. My job on any wedding day is telling a love story through images. Molly is a big part of Alisha and Jacob’s love story. The challenge of Molly was about balance. How do I incorporate her into their story in a large way without her taking over and becoming the whole story? I am happy with the balance I got while shooting. Now the challenge continues into their album editing.
Friends and family be sure to stay tuned to this post as it will be updated with a personalized page next week that will have a slideshow of more images and the online gallery, and to be notified when the proofs are available for purchase.
***UPDATE*** The personalized page is now online.
