The Second Annual LayFlats Festival was held this Friday and Saturday at the Tippecanoe County Ampitheater. While Friday evening’s events were somewhat subdued by a steady drizzle of rain, Saturday’s activities were celebrated under mostly clear skies.
Since I was also performing with my band, and trying to keep an eye on my daughter, I was limited as to just how much shooting I could do. Also, with an event this size (60 bands, 5 stages, dozens of vendors, etc) attempting complete coverage would take a staff of at least four shooters.
I did manage some good stuff regardless.
Amy Levere, whom I interviewed via telephone during my radio show last week:
The Lafayette Brawlin’ Dolls (well, some of them anyway):
Richard, another WBAA host and singer/guitarist for the Prannies:
We do it all for the fans! :0)
I don’t know who this is, but I was there so I took a picture! :0)
Ah, and what collection would be complete without the Woodstove Flapjacks (as I told Matt, they’re no longer a band, they’re a cult!). This is perhaps my favorite image from the weekend:
And one last one of Tim Brouk of Journal & Courier fame!
Thanks to all the organizers and volunteers for doing such a great thing for the Lafayette area arts and music community! Hats off to you!
