Teresa and Weston | Backyard Wedding Photography| Kokomo, Indiana

At 7:40pm I sent a text to a friend. This is unusual for me as I normally go off the grid with my phone on a wedding day, and don’t communicate with anyone outside of Dave. This was one of those things that I could not keep to myself. I had to tell someone. The text was simple, it read “This is one of my favorite weddings of all time”.

A true representation of two families coming together. Everything about this day, from the cake to the dress, were provided through help from friends. In fact, after we did the reveal with Weston and Teresa they noted that nearly everyone who was attending the wedding had already arrived and were helping set up for the day.

This is easily one of the most memorable wedding ceremonies I have ever photographed. The entire ceremony was created by Weston and Teresa. It combined several elements from different faiths. The result was a ceremony that was deeply personal to them as a couple and unique to their world view and life together. Two of their grandmothers officiated the wedding in tandem, the music was played by family members and the parents were involved in a rope binding ceremony.

It was beautiful and moving. I could not hold it to myself. I had to tell a friend. I broke my rule and I sent a text.
