Julie & Geoff – June 28, 2008

UPDATE: Proofs can now be viewed and purchased here!

UPDATE: Hey, check out the album design here!

Saturday’s wedding took place right here in Greater Lafayette, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ.

As I might have mentioned before, J&G are a dynamic couple, full of laughter and smiles. Julie’s wedding day was no exception, as her reaction to everything around her was all giggles:

Except maybe when Whitney’s trying to put her in a head lock:

… oh… no, wait, she’s just trying to put the veil on! LOL

Once everyone was dressed for the occasion, Geoff would be seeing Julie for the first time in her wedding gown. What a wonderful photo-op:

Just before formals began I captured this image of Julie with her flower girl:

Very nice!

The ceremony was lovely…

… and included a very unique a...

Kelly & Troy

Kelly and Troy are a couple referred to me by my good friend Ryan Musch of FH Photographic.

They are from the Valparaiso area, and I traveled up north to photograph their engagement session. We started at a site Kelly recommended, the Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve. After that we headed up to the Indiana Dunes park.

I love the image from the session, Kelly and Troy were easy and fun to work with… I find myself smiling as I look back at the photos!

Alissa & Brad – June 21, 2008

UPDATE: Proofs are up and available for viewing and purchase here!

UPDATE: The preliminary album design is up here!

Saturday’s wedding took place in Indianapolis at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Alissa was referred to me by a wonderful couple, so I was certainly looking forward to a great experience and I wasn’t disappointed.

Of course the day began with some preparations, of which I enjoy several images, here are a couple of samples:

Alissa with her mom:

And with the girls:

This is in front of one of the stained glass pieces in St. Luke’s, I think this image is quite romantic:

These look like happy folks! :0)

Up to this point I’d been photographing the girls while my apprentice Tory worked with the guys...

Julie & Geoff

I actually photographed this session a little while back, again it’s been busy, busy, busy!

Anyway, we did some engagement photos in downtown Lafayette, and I though it was quite a bit of fun. J & G are a very relaxed couple, and I think their photos reflect that.

They tolerated my wacky ideas:

This is what I’m talking about, I love these kind of shots:

A little more straight-forward:

And finally, two of my favorites:

Watch for their wedding blog in just a couple of weeks!

Wesley Hartman

Yesterday provided a very interesting Senior session. Wesley is a very interesting young man… never a dull moment as I told him, he’s involved in writing, motorcycling, swimming and airsoft competition. Whew!

When his mother Pam called to ask if they were welcome to bring props of their own, I told her I’d be happy to accommodate.

The first prop was rather large, a Honda motorcycle (and they didn’t even know I’m a huge Honda fan!):

I love this shot!

The next prop was slightly out of the ordinary, a Ruger .44 caliber revolver. Wesley is a fan of the Roland character from Steven King’s “The Dark Tower” series, he’s also written some spin-off pieces of his own based on the character. So, we did some “Gunslinger” themed shots at his request:

And one very intense image:

Yes, I was in fact s...

Katy Schaeffer, Part II

Another senior session, this time in downtown Lafayette. We already photographed Katy’s studio images awhile back, and as nice as those were, I think the outdoor photos are even better!

And two more from a couple of my favorite new spots:

Holly & Jeff

This engagement session took place some weeks ago, and yes, I’m just now getting around to blogging it!

That’s OK, because the wedding isn’t until December. Holly and Jeff are a great couple, and I can’t wait until the wedding. I’ll be seeing some old faces, Erica and Baron Hall, too.

Some images from downtown Lafayette:

Another product assignment…

…for Pan-Teaz iWear.

If you remember, my last assignment for the company was in Bloomington, featuring their spokes-models. This time around the shoot was done here at Image Source, as we were concentrating on product photography this time. Product photography is it’s own unique challenge, because the photographer has to find ways to light and compose the object in an interesting way, while still keeping the goals of the client in mind. This also means keeping in mind the needs of their graphic designers, web designers etc.

A couple of interesting images, IMO:

Getting caught up

Now that the first flurry of wedding activity is somewhat under control, I can take a moment and catch the blog up on a whole bunch of stuff.

The first image will be a product shot (one of many, actually) done for Santarossa Mosaic and Tile of Indianapolis. Past images I’ve done for them have been seen in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine.
