You never know what part of growing up will help you out later in life. Damian is really into music and marching band. I just happened to be a bit of a band geek myself in high school and was able to tap into that well of forgotten knowledge in Damian’s shoot. Set position, ready position, swing, jazz and blues, all got turned into mood and visual feel. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Damian. It was fun.

I have known Angela only briefly but I have come to respect and admire her. She is the Branch Manager of Old National Bank on county road 350 south in Lafayette, a part time florist, volunteers with the YWCA and other organizations, and still finds time to raise 2 well behaved boys.

What I have always loved about portrait photography is allowing someone’s personality to be captured with an image. Charlie is a quiet, reserved, and mature young man. I was happy to find that these qualities came through in his session.

I have known the Hamptons for as long as I have been taking photos. So when Kelly gave birth to little Oliver Hampton I had to make sure he got into the studio for some portraits. Kelly mentioned to me that while she had many photos of Oli that she had taken herself, she did not have many of the two of them together. I’m glad she said something because the shots of the pair together turned out to be my favorites of the session.

Join Mike and I from noon to 4:00pm today at the Lafayette Theater Bridal Showcase. 6th and Main in Lafayette.
I started shooting Karina and things were going well. I casually let her know that it is ok to laugh, that we encourage it. All of a sudden, as if every giggle since she entered the studio had been stored up inside her stomach, they came rushing out at once. She laughed for a solid minute straight, and continued to giggle through the rest of the shoot, giving me some great shots.
